hi, I’m Autumn, but you can call me Leaf or Faon as well, my pronouns are they/them, I currently live in central europe, am very queer, and was born in ‘95. after more than a decade on this hellsite ( affectionate ) — which is btw insane, like?? ten years??? — I think I’m staying for good. and what better way to sorta commemorate this decision than to finally write up an about me that I can pin? nothing, the answer is— [ untintelligiable ]
I’ve pretty early on decided not to have a sideblog for all of my hundreds of interests. so, on this blog I reblog and post everything I like to reblog or post. at the moment that’s mostly kpop, pretty aesthetic stuff, and whichever show has currently caught my interest; I also reblog stuff about old favourites like dragon age, the Craig!Bond movies, marvel and DC stuff, shadowhunters and others. I really like vampires, languages, and I’m a plant parent and future university student, as well as a writer, a witch and fanfiction author. you can follow me on my irregularly updated writing blog @splittergheist ( that’s the only sideblog worth noting tho ).
my last tumblr wrapped I think said it’s like 90 percent reblogs and 10 percent original posts on here; I’m not really a gif maker or anything of the sort, but I will reblog every single Spirit - Stallion of Cimarron gif set that crosses my dash.
be kind in my inbox or I’ll simply delete your ask. I tag all of my posts, but if you ask ( kindly ) I will try to remember tagging specific things! I also copy someone’s previous tags sometimes and add 'prev tags’ to comment on them or to immortalize them; but I really hate people using only prev tags, I don’t think that’s practical at all.
underneath the read more you’ll find kpop related stuff and a tiny, stupid but lovely thing one of my mutuals wrote. thank you for reading, I hope your day finds you well. <3
you can replace all your daily tasks with 24 hours of the hyperfixation. But watch out

Reblog to give mutuals a break from whatever they're been going through
as a bi person, the bisexual flag brings me infinite joy and always puts a smile on my face, however as a person who has a Passion for Graphic Design, that undersaturated shade of purple infuriates me when it's used digitally
like, on an actual flag - which was its original purpose - it looks great!
those look fine! lovely, even! with the semi-transparent fabric, the way it catches the sunlight, it looks beautiful!
but now look at how it looks digitally
the pink and blue are so vibrant compared to the sad, lonely lavender!
and let's look at this statement from Michael Page, the creator of the bi flag:
(sidenote: he created this flag in 1998, so if his takes on bisexuality is different from yours, it's okay to notice that! a lot has changed since the 90s when it comes to lived experiences and the way we describe them. but, it's also important to respect his thoughts about this and the way he presented them, even if today, we'd probably not say that bi people "blend unnoticeably into both the gay/lesbian and straight communities.")
so in pantone colors, the pink is 226 C, the blue is 286 C, and the purple of the flag is 258 C.
but...here's the deal
Michael talks here about how the key to understanding the symbolism is to know that the purple blends into both the pink and blue. and on a physical flag, I think you can see that!
but digitally, it absolutely does not blend. it clashes badly, and looks oddly separate from the other two colors.
which got me wondering...what purple do you get if you actually blend 226 C and 286 C?
oh! oh, my god.
look at that! look at how nicely it fits between those colors!
look at it next to the original color scheme! look at how much more vibrant the purple is!
and friends. this is just blending through rgb! you get even more purple variations when you use other color spaces!
let's compare all of them:
(top: original, lab. middle: lrgb, lch. bottom: rgb, hsl)
look at all of the different purple options you can get just by combining these two colors!
if you want almost too-vibrant saturation, you can go hsl, if you want something more relaxed that's closer to the original, you can go lab or lrgb. and if you want to split the difference, lch is bright and violet, while rgb is there with its saturated but darker purple.
anyway, I guess I don't really have a point here? this isn't so much an informational post as it is Me Getting Weird About Colors, but I think it is a useful lesson about how colors look very different on screens compared to how they look on objects in real life.
and sometimes, I think it's okay to compensate for that.
out of all of these, this is my favorite bi flag:
it's the one where the colors were blended in lab color space. for me, the lighter, softer purple is close enough to the original bi flag purple, while also feeling like a smoother blend of the blue and pink
but that's just me! and it might not even look the same to you, since every screen is different, because technology is a nightmare!
anyway, thank you for coming with me on this colorful journey! I will now retreat back to inkscape and make pained sounds about inkstitch gradients until something tangible pulls me back into reality
Finally, color theory that's not in a children's hospital.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.
Let OP talk, they’re absolutely right.
discussions about language from the discord call i was just in w/ friends:
- “my girlfriend can never remember the english word for ‘rubber band’, so she just calls it ‘circle rope’, and i’ve accidentally started saying it too”
- “when i was a kid i didn’t realise that when my grandmother spoke english she used to mix in italian with it, so i used to say ‘allora’ instead of ‘then’ because i just assumed it was english too and my parents didn’t realise until i wrote it in my schoolwork once and confused my teachers”
- “when i first met my girlfriend’s mum she asked me if i wanted to eat thai food and i tried to say, in thai, “sorry, thai food is too spicy for me”, but i accidentally said “sorry, thai food is too sexy for me”
- “one time my flatmate went to print off something at her friend’s office and heard her greet her boss in French, and asked her if she had been greeting him like that everyday. she realised that her friend had been saying something like “good morning, i’m horny” to her boss every day for the last six months”
- “that time i got really drunk on a boat a guy came up to me asked me where i was from in english, and i replied in swedish. every time he spoke to me i replied to him in swedish and he asked my friend if i spoke english, who had the joy of telling him that english was my first language and i was just really hammered”
- “my parents came to visit me at the end of my stay in sweden and i was so excited to show them how much swedish i had learnt, so i took them to a pub and went to the bartender to order. i ordered everything in perfect swedish, the bartender waited until i finished and then said, “i’m really sorry, but do you speak any english? i don’t speak swedish”
- “one time my friend was on a train in the netherlands that stopped because of losing electricity. the announcement was given in multiple languages, 3 of which he could understand, and all of which made sense until it got to the english one, where the conductor announced that the train had “lost its elasticity”
“why would we make plans in front of you if you weren’t invited?” babe i was left out of everything growing up, i need 100% confirmation you want me there or i simply will not go
i would love it if a hot vampire made me taste my own blood by kissing me when her mouth is full of it.
august please be good to all the friends in my phone. thank you
